I'm just in the process of planning a trip away and Skye is never far from my mind.. I got around to looking back at shots from the last trip and realised there is still a lot sat there completely untouched, something which I've been trying to address as it's such a waste given the effort to get them in the first place...
This was an early start which saw me being the first one up here on this morning, some nice light coming in with a very overcast sky making for a dramatic contrasting scene, this was shot a lot further down the slopes than the previous image I posted a good while back using a well worn walking track as a lead in,
You're never going to have a wasted trip up here for sunrise, because even if the light doesn't play ball for you you are still going to have the place pretty much to yourself to just take it all in, if you don't get a shot, hey so what, look where you are.... if you have ever seen how busy this place gets later in the day you will appreciate where I'm coming from.

I couldn't leave out the Old Man of Storr during my short stay on the Isle of Skye. It is a very busy place with lots of tourists climbing the slopes. Many of them hurry down the slopes after the ferocious attacks of the midges; a little nasty biting fly that comes in big swarms.

For me simply one of the best views in Britain, and my favourite Scottish Island of all, Skye.
An arduous trudge up to the top at this time of the morning but well worth it to take in the magical views, one of those places that it's very hard not to be left speechless by the sheer beauty of the place, wherever you point the camera it would be quite hard not to come away with something decent, although the light was good, the clouds on this morning weren't as dramatic as I would have liked so I've gone for a long exposure for the cloud movement and to drag the sky colour along a little, every time I look at these images from Skye I just really want to go back.
