Today's offering - back to Iceland again after a few Scottish images....
This image was something that kind of came to me as I was watching the scene in front of me, I'd shot Icebergs within the lagoon here in various forms, bigger scenes and minute detail but as I walked along the banks here I stopped in this spot, as it was pretty much where the incoming tide met the still water of the lagoon, always wanting something different from the norm I hung around for a while....
What was happening was that the incoming tidal flow was hitting the still water with lots of icebergs in and was getting pushed back, before once again hitting the tide and getting moved around in what was a very slow moving circle at the the exact spot of 'collision'... the noise from this as the Icebergs clashed was fantastic, and really enjoyable to watch.
After a few minutes it struck me that I could create something like this if I counted how long the procedure was taking to complete a full 'circle' then simply get that exposure time in camera, once that was achieved it was a case of waiting for the biggest icebergs to be pushed around to create a dramatic sense of movement past the camera, and this curious 'whirlpool' of ice, in total contrast to the stationary pieces within the still water was created.
