Half Desert Sandy Roads

Empty tarmac roads that are frequently covered by sand are really nice environment for interesting desert-like photographs. As a bonus, the location is very close to Dubai.

Note that you can't see the Dubai skyline from this location. So, yes, if you saw such a photograph (and there are many), it's photoshopped. But they look so cool! If you want to create one, you can get a great Dubai skyline shots from Dubai Creek Harbour.

Photo tips: Drone would help you to get a higher vantage point, but even without one, you can get a nice overlook either by getting up to your car roof, or using some blown sand as your base.

Getting there: Just follow gps navigation and once in the area, explore the roads and roundabouts. 2WD car is enough to get to the area, but while looking for a good spot, a good 4WD and possibly some sand driving skills can be useful in order to cross larger areas of blown sand.
