First image from a recent very productive trip up to Scotland, with Brad Eide, Mike Muddyboots, Andy Rouse, Geoff Moore, and Mark Waidson. The weather had looked pretty horrible on the forecast but always with these things they can (and usually do) change at a moments notice.

This morning we had also met up with Louise (Skyeweasel) who had come out with us for the day.

About 10 minutes before this shot was taken we had watched a huge storm roll in and completely cover the mountains from further away by the time we got to Torrin it had completely broken up and gorgeous sunshine was illuminating the mountains and foreground with the tops totally clear. I quickly went about shooting what I wanted, which was a pano of the scene (15 shots consisting of 3 x 1 stop bracketed images x5).

I was quite fortunate in the timing to grab this shot as another 10 minutes passed and the weather turned again producing, snow, hail, thunder and lightning, and once again the mountains completely vanished into the weather front.

I can't honestly remember in all the trips to Scotland I've done such crazy weather, to jump from bright sunlight to sideways hail and lightning in the blink of an aye. Pretty much every weather condition going !! I was hopeful looking at the back of the camera with this image at the time with the patches of light and heavy cloud.
