Another shot of the beautiful Awosting falls. This one I took from a more downstream location and got a fair bit wet while doing so. The water was unbelievably cold but it is always fun to get ones feet wet. Again used a slow shutter speed with a Lee .9 ND filter and polarizer combination, I love the way the cascading water flows almost diagonally across the frame and the waterfall by the distance ads such a nice backdrop behind the trees.

In the coming weeks I hope I will be able to explore much of the other waterfalls in this region and get more waterfalls to my photostream.

It was such a colorless place , no matter what I couldn't get any colors , though I think it still makes a nice photo ..... or maybe not , I'll let...

Due to some changes in my professional and personal life, I have had to take a break from traveling these days. Initially, I was a but bummed out but these days I am having tons of fun going through my older sets of images and looking for missed gems. One unforeseen advantage of this is I am getting a close impression of my growth as a photographer. I found images from one trip where every image I took was for HDR imagery, lots of spray and pray. And then I came across this trip to Awosting falls a majestic waterfall in upstate New York. I only did about 4 compositions here and in total may be 20 images. It looks like my compositions were carefully thought out and that I spend my time taking these images.

When thinking back about this trip, I remember that I had just bought a bike and a colleague recommended the Minnewaska State Park for some easy trails. So, I think the fact that I was doing the trip just to break in my bike relieved the pressure to take images off of me and I was able to enjoy the park and the natural beauty of upstate New York. On my way back I noticed these interesting compositions and took some shots. I didn’t realize it then but now looking back I think I am slowly learning what life taught me and getting over my FOMO.
